Beyond Voting: Women in Elected Office Online

Panel discussion featuring first-time women office-holders, Carrie Koelker, Lindsay James, Kate Parks, and Nancy Fett.

This year marks the one hundredth anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which opened up the electoral system to participation by women. As part of Loras College’s commemoration of this milestone, please join us in listening to four women recently elected to their first term in state or local office. They will share why they decided to run for public office, their experiences campaigning, and the rewards and challenges of the job so far.

This online event is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Loras College Library and the History, Sociology, Politics, and Gender Studies Programs.
